# Onboarding Overview

> How a new brand workspace is created, paid for, activated and configured through the setup wizard, up to minting its first Digital Product Passport.

Onboarding takes a new brand from signup to a live, mint-ready workspace. The flow is staged so that critical decisions (plan selection, brand identity, and resolver subdomain) are captured before any product or passport data is created.

## Stages

#### Account & Brand Creation

The signing user creates an account and a brand workspace. Brand name, industry classification,
and primary contact details are captured.

#### Plan Selection

The user selects a subscription plan. Pricing is shown in the user's local currency. The flow
generates a Stripe checkout session.

#### Activation

On successful payment, the Stripe webhook activates the workspace, provisions the default roles,
and unlocks the Setup Wizard.

#### Setup Wizard

Guided configuration of resolver subdomain, brand identity (logo, colours), default theme, and
economic operator records. The resolver subdomain is **write-once**, it becomes the permanent
base URL for every passport in the workspace.

#### First Product & Passport

The user is routed into the Product workspace to create or import their first product, then to
mint and publish their first passport.

## Activation State

Workspaces have an explicit activation state. Until the Stripe webhook confirms payment, the workspace is held in a pending state and the Setup Wizard is gated. If activation fails, the user is routed to a recovery screen that can re-issue the activation link.

## Industry Classification

The industry chosen during brand creation determines:

* which DPP module categories appear on the product detail surface
* which fields are required versus optional
* which compliance disclosures are surfaced in the passport
* which Market Pack defaults apply

Industry can be revised later in **Settings → Industry & Compliance**, but changes affect future mints only; previously issued passports retain their original snapshot configuration.

## Setup Wizard Output

After the Setup Wizard the workspace has:

* A permanent resolver subdomain
* Brand identity assets (logo, colour tokens) bound to the default theme
* At least one economic operator record (manufacturer, importer, or authorised representative)
* A default theme assigned for new passports
* Roles seeded for the founding member
