Market Packs

A Market Pack is a regional profile that configures how a Digital Product Passport is localised for a specific market. Each pack defines the language, date and number formatting, measurement conventions, and supplementary content — such as recycling guidance and disclaimers — that should accompany the passport when it is served to consumers in that market.

What a Market Pack Contains

Locale Rules

Each Market Pack defines formatting conventions that control how dates, numbers, and measurements appear in the localised passport:

Recycling Guidance

Market Packs include structured recycling guidance tailored to each market’s waste management infrastructure and regulations. Guidance covers:

  1. Product recycling guidance — overarching instructions for the product as a whole
  2. 14 material categories — specific guidance for Glass, Paper & Cardboard, Metals (Ferrous), Metals (Non-Ferrous), Plastics (Rigid), Plastics (Flexible), Textiles & Fabrics, Leather, Wood, Ceramics, Rubber, Composites, Electronics, and Batteries

Each material entry includes:

  • a clear, consumer-friendly title
  • actionable guidance written in an approachable, encouraging tone
  • an optional external link to the relevant local authority, collection scheme, or regulatory body

Recycling guidance is designed to be immediately useful to consumers — helping them understand how to responsibly handle, recycle, or dispose of the product in their specific market.

Managing Market Packs

Market Packs are managed from the Localisations section of the tieback dashboard:

  • Browse all packs in a searchable, filterable grid — with country flags, market codes, enabled languages, and status indicators at a glance.
  • Open a pack to view and configure its locale rules, recycling guidance, disclaimers, and language settings.
  • Preview how the localised passport will render for each market and language combination.

Predefined Market Packs provide a strong starting point. Brands are encouraged to review and customise the recycling guidance and disclaimers for their specific product categories and regulatory obligations.
